Flying used to be easier, I swear.

I was running at the gym this week, and every darn TV station was declaring impending doom on airline ticket prices. So, with panic in my belly that it was too late, I booked tickets to visit my Grandmother and all our family in Boston in early August. I placed them on hold that same day, and good thing, they went up $50/ticket overnight. The prices sucked rocks still, at $439/ticket. But then, we had a single $450 voucher thanks to being left stranded in Chicago by American last Memorial Day. That was some fun times. So it's what, a mere $1406. A bargain.

We will get to see an impressive array of family. My Aunt and Uncle, my cousins J&J and their new baby boy, just born. My cousins A&G and their baby boy B, who is now 1 and whom we've not met yet (except in utero) Mr. H's Cousin M, his wife D and their girls, who are the same age as Chispa and Changa. Mr. H's best bud from college. And most important, the Matriarch of my family, my paternal grandmother, or as Chispa used to call her. Gate Gandma.

We got direct flights, so naturally the times also suck rocks. 1:50pm leave time, but arriving at 10:30pm, local. (not soooo bad, that's 7:30pm Pacific)

We leave at 7:55am. I'm trying to block out what time we need to wake up to arrive for that. But it beats being STRANDED somewhere, like, oh, say CHICAGO. Right?
