So Chispa had her 4th acting class today. She seems to like it, it's 10 little girls her age leaping around doing pretend. I always feed her beforehand to make sure she'll be cheerful and as cooperative as is within her demeanor. The theme is "It's Magic" There's songs, a little play etc.
The first week she needed to warm up, but was all a chatter about it afterwards, we looked up Higgitus Figgitus on YouTube, and she got into it.
The 2nd week she was pretty good, although she didn't like that the set was changing on the stage (for an adult play)
Last week she had a COW because the set was completely different for a new play (all change is BAD), but then was fine and chanting all the words to the songs, etc. But she'd also brought a singing card her grandparents brought her, and was delighted that the song, about magic, was one they'd be doing. All a chatter.
This week she was happy to come, was fed, in a good mood, and randomly refused to do anything they did. "I don't WANT to. I don't LIKE this play. I don't like that SONG." On and on and on. They aren't super experienced teachers. So I intervened and hauled her off stage and downstairs, and we discussed that Uncle G doesn't quit when he doesn't feel like it and cause problems or there'd only be TWO Musketeers in his last play!
She went back up and was fine for the rest.
I HATE being the parent of THAT kid. The one disrupting the whole class. Who is disruptive and obnoxious and difficult and throwing fits for no discernable reason. I do everything I possibly can with her and so does Mr.H.
She was perfectly cheerful afterwards too. I was too pissed to review further what we learned about behavior and that Uncle G always works with all his friends on a play, and you can't just crap out. But we'll be reviewing that more.
Why does our kid have to be such a giant PITA as her basic behavior? She can be so creative and charming and fun, when she WANTS to. ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH.
The only thing I can think of is we didn't play it up all week this week. I guess I need to get into high art play-it-up all week mode.
