You need these! Rechargeable batteries for gifts new and old

Whatever all you and any kids you have got for the holidays, if they use standard batteries, I highly recommend you buy the Eneloop rechargeable batteries. I got mine online, but I got more at Costco! These batteries (unlike older kinds) hold a charge sitting in the drawer, so you can just pop spares into your things, which is a huge improvement. The recharger is cheap, I got it off of Thomas Batteries website.

I have this charger: (Maha MH_C204W)

They cost more up front, but I have seriously NEVER had to buy a battery for all our remote controls, all the kids battery stuff, our digital scale, and our digital stuff, old digital camera, etc. that still use AA or AAA batteries, you can also do it for bigger batteries, I believe.

Just another little Gruppie attempt to decrease my collective footprint on the earth. I hope some of y'all might try these if you haven't before!

Happy 2009 to all!

I have the same charger and really should start using it for more than camera batteries, although we don't use a lot of AAs as it is.

Do you have rechargeables of any other size (9-volt? C/D/AAA?), and if so, what charger do you have for them? I think D cells for flashlights are our only other major use of batteries.
