Shana Tova, Happy Jewish New Year to you all. Heck, even if you aren't Jewish, you can still share in the hopes for turning a new leaf, and a new year of happiness, peace, and meaning. Our kids about exhausted themselves in a frenzy of singing Apple and Honey (for a sweet new year) songs, Shana Tova songs etc. And let's not forget, eating the copious amounts of apples and honey that made their way to our door from their respective schools.
Changa was right tuckered out from all the festivities and crashed for a sorely needed 3 hour nap yesterday. So at bedtime, as she often does, she informed me she was Not Tired. I helpfully pointed out that Mr. Sun had gone to sleep (as her teacher says). She looked at me, and said "But where does Mr. Sun GO?". So I explained the earth spins in a circle and the sun is on the other side so we can't see it. "That's funny, mama." Like funny=strange. They have a globe at school, which I referenced, and she bought the real explanation, I think, more or less.
Oh, and on the way to school in the car this morning, "Mama P. (her class aide) calls them panties, but I call them undies. Undies is better." You have to love the fertile mind of a 3 year old, no?
