My Sister Told Me To and a hot tip to avoid the ER.

So I was off for my first bike ride since being on vacation, wuwuwuwuwu! Beautiful comfy temperature, nice day, riding with my friend D and all our biking buds. All good. Then I get THE CALL. Changa had a bead stuck up her nose. My nanny T had to take her 3 yo and our 2 in my car (that fits all 3 carseats) to Kaiser Minor Injury clinic! I was in the mountains with crap reception, so at first I thought it was a "bee" sting. Then found out it was bead. Poor T was stuck waiting there for almost 2 hours, and I got there and we got called in. I in bike shoes with huge cleats on the bottom (not great for walking) all sweaty, and with my bike. Mr. H got there first. He then went to get our car while I waited.

HOT TIP: the nurse had me squeeze closed the good nostril and blow into her mouth CPR style. Out popped the purple bead. Apparently that works about 50% of the time, if the object is round. End of story.

Except not.

So I asked Changa on the way home in my car why she did that, she's NEVER done such a thing. Never. Chispa was in the other car with Mr. H. Changa said "Chispa told me to". I figured as much, it sounded too suspicious. Changa has never ever done that, not even when she was young.

I asked Chispa real casually "So Chispa, I have a question for you. What gave Changa the idea to put a bead in her nose???" Chispa has had it hammered into her that telling the truth makes anything you did less bad than lying about it. I'm proud to say, she did say "I told her to, and I'm sorry Mommy". Mind you, she didn't manage to tell us till I directly asked her.

So we told her that we were glad she told us the truth. And that it makes it less bad, but that Daddy and I were going to discuss a punishment, because what she did was very bad. It would be a less-bad punishment than if she lied. But she still needs to be punished, obviously.

Ideas? On the punishment? We have a CONTINUAL problem with this. She has tried to tell kids at school, and Changa to do bad things and then watches it happen. She tells them "don't listen to the teacher or Mommy, listen to me". Control issues anyone? HOW do we emphasize that she made a very very bad choice telling Changa to put a bead up her nose???
