The Gruppie Family does Wedding

G and J's wedding was a lovely affair. It was held at an estate not far from here. I'd never heard of it before; it's a very nice spot. The girls had a great time and looked super cute in their matching purple outfits I snagged from a consignment store, no less. The regular stores only had sun dress dregs when I was shopping, the "Holiday" ahem, dresses, hadn't come in yet. You know, the red and green plaid "Holiday" dresses. So the consignment store find was fabulous. When Mr. H walked down the aisle, Changa and Chispa both hollered "That's my DADDY". We provided the cute-child levity moment. We're here to help. Luckily the immediately ensuing fight they had over the baby carrots was solved when I produced two bags of black olives, one for each. The girls loved the horse and carriage J came in on, and G and J left in, and loved that they got to ride it most of all.

Our fabulous sitter K bailed out the girls at 8:15pm and put them to bed. Good thing, as Changa had been begging to go bye-bye since 7:30pm, but Chispa really wanted to see the dancing. And Changa was then asked to dance by a little 3 year old cousin of J's, and suddenly relocated her happy.

So cute. The photographer was a manic avant garde photographer who took super cool pix. Since Mr. H was in the wedding,it was a darned good thing my parents were invited too, it would have been a mighty tricky affair if I'd been soloing it with them at the wedding. I would have managed, but it wouldn't have been fun. It's all about having enough family to spread out the work.

And miraculously, Changa didn't have a single accident in her lovely purple dress. Good thing, not like I had a backup wedding dress. Of course, it's always fun to spend time with all the family and friends that come into town, particularly the far-flung family. I'm sure our kids thought we were making it up after a while. THIS is your relative too :). Congrats to G and J who are now in Greece and married!
